A time capsule is coming home… the arrival!

The Legendary Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV

lambo_home01Chapter three: “I liked my Ferrari’s but I was sick and tired of spending so much of my time burning out their clutches” (Ferruccio Lamborghini). Yesterday was a very special day at Liberty Cars Classics. The arrival of a legend we heard a lot about, started her engine and made us feel even more of what she was capable off. Moving her around was easy, but only when you kept the door open and sit near the gold trim. Something that suits such extreme dreams. (For Sale | Detail shots coming soon).

A time capsule is coming home… part 2

The Legendary Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV

Lamborghini Polistorico - Countach 5000 QVChapter two: “I never stopped thinking about the ideal car… All I had to do was construct a plant to build it” (Ferruccio Lamborghini). In our earlier post we reported about Lamborghini Polistorico (the brand new restoring facility in Italy); Lamborghini’s answer to restoring their Legends.

Our original (gold-plated) Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvolve was the first to be restored in this brand new facility. Last week we got the opportunity to see our original restored Lamborghini in the flesh for the first time. When they slowly took the cover off everybody in the room became quiet…. Have a look for yourself and enjoy!

The Legendary Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV

IMG_5166Something special and unique is soon coming back to The Netherlands. The Wolf of Wall street could have specced this 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole.

Lamborghini Polistorico (the brand new restoring facility in Italy) restored the car to get an official certificate of originality.

The Countach was styled by Marcello Gandini of the Bertone design studio, the same designer and studio that designed the Miura. The Countach shape was wide and low (1.07 metres or 42.1 inches), but not very long (only 4.1 metres or 163 inches). Its angular and wedge-shaped body was made almost entirely of flat, trapezoidal panels.
The doors, most often credited as a Lamborghini trademark, were a remarkable design feature for the Countach. They hinged at the front with horizontal hinges, so that they lifted up and tilted forwards. The [...]

Lamborghini relaunches Restoration Center

Italian carmaker provides unique knowledge and guaranteed authenticity for classic Lamborghini cars!

For real Lamborghini fans this might not be news anymore, but for most of us it is: Lamborghini relaunched last year its Restoration Center: “Lamborghini Polo Storico”… an in-house department that includes the brand’s historical archives, the vehicle restoration center, vehicle certification, and guarantees the availability of numerous genuine spare parts for all historical Lamborghini models.

With its new Polo Storico, Automobili Lamborghini emphasizes the importance of preserving its broad heritage and unique knowledge. A big part of this new formula is the Archivio Storico Lamborghini. This historical archive includes the documentation of historical Lamborghini car models, as well as technical schemes, body colors, leathers, images and several publications ever made by the company. For instance, Lamborghini Polo Storico offers this documentation on paper, but will be accessible in a digitalized version for all owners and fans of Lamborghini classic cars as well as for journalists, writers and researchers.
